Who Is Looking For Support?

Elijah

My name is Elijah, I am 5 years old and I love to sing and dance.
I am supposed to start my primary education soon. For this, I will need someone to sponsor me so we can afford the school fee, uniforms, shoes, stationery and other basic needs. If you sponsor my education, you won’t regret it. I promise to study hard and be a good boy as I am.
Please reach out to New Stars in case you want to support me.

Trevor

My name is Trevor, I am a 5 years old strong and handsome boy.  I would like to thank my mom who has been doing everything to make me happy. My dad abandoned us when I was 2 months old. He was always beating my mom and he was a womanizer. My mother used to carry me on her back, looking for a job in people’s houses, like washing clothes. But people refused  to offer her a job because of me.
They were asking her how she would work with a small kid. So we slept hungry without food and other basic needs. My mother talked to New Stars to take me in so that she can work, and they said yes. As you can see, I am now strong thanks to the love I get. I pray for our school to keep growing and help others like me.

Glory

My name is Glory. I am a strong 3 years old girl. I believe I can do everything well like my big brothers at my school. My teacher gives me assignments and I solve them with determination. I believe if you support my daily life and education, I will study hard and make you proud. Ahsante sana.

Imanuel

My name is Imanuel and I am 2.5 years old. My mother passed away due to HIV. And my grandma is already very old. She was not able to  afford to take care of me. So we used to stay without food and I got very weak due to malnourishment. Thankfully, New Stars heard about me, took me in, restored my health and now I’m a strong (little) man again.

Abdul

My name is Abdul, I am 4 years old. I love playing football, and making jokes. However, I am determined and I study seriously because one day, I want to become a doctor. My primary education is supposed to begin soon. Please say yes to my sponsorship.

Ebenezer

My name is Ebenezer, I am 2 years old. I was always sad in my life, my mother used to lock me inside while she went out to look for food. I was crying all day long. The government officials  rescued me, took me to New Stars, now I can play and stay with other kids and have enough food. If you smile at me, I can finally smile back.

Jovin

My name is Jovin, I am 3 years old. When my mother gave birth to me, life seemed good for both of my parents. But after 7 months, my mother noticed that she was pregnant again. When my dad heard the news, he ran away and left us. Our life changed completely. My mom was hospitalized all the time during the second pregnancy. New Stars took me in, and when my brother was born, they also took him in when he was 1 month old, we are very happy and strong now.

Ibrahim

My name is Ibrahim, I am 1.5 years old. My mother was 16 years old when she gave birth to me. She was still in school and wished to continue with her studies. But no one was willing to assist her with taking care of me. She found out about New Stars, and they agreed to take me in. Now my mum can go back to school.

Bridgit

My name is Bridgit, they call me “B”. I am 2.5 years old. My mother is  a single mother and jobless, she asked New Stars to take me in so that she can look for a job, but right now, she is still struggling to find one.

Innocent

My name is Innocent, I am 5 years old, my mother left me at a neighbor’s house, due to heavy life challenges. The village elders talked to New Stars, and they accepted me into the school. I wish to find good people to support my education so that I can one day become a judge.

Elisa

Hello everyone, my name is Elisa. I am 6 months old and my home is New Stars. My mum was welcomed to the foundation the first day it was founded. A guy lied to my mum that he would marry her, he impregnated my mum and left us as soon as he found out that she was pregnant. So I never got to meet my father. I am very happy to have a family at New Stars. They love us so much. Please help us so we can continue to get our basic needs through the foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s Answer Your Questions

How much does it cost and what is the money used for?

A sponsorship is $35 per month for a kid going to primary school.
And it is $25 per month for a kid at pre-primary age.
And $25 per month for a kid with disabilities.

We use the money to pay everything that the kid needs for its education. For our kids starting primary school, this means: The school fees, food, registration fee. In most cases, the kid will still go to New Stars Foundation on his days off, so he gets food and its mother can go to work.
For pre-primary school kids the sponsorship covers food, school material and any necessary investments for this month like medicine.
For kids with disabilities, the sponsorship covers a medical insurance so they can go to good hospitals, it covers food, sanitary pads, other basic needs and we save up for a wheel chair.

After this, we use the rest of the money to pay part of the monthly expenses of New Stars Foundation so we can help the smaller kids as well and keep the project running. You can find a breakdown of our costs at Donate > „Could you provide an overview over your monthly expenses”

Why does part of the money go to the expenses of the New Stars Foundation school?

We don’t receive any funding. Neither from the government nor from other sources. So we rely on your generosity to keep the project running.
To understand how you can sponsor a kid without covering the operating costs, please check out the next answer.

Can I sponsor a kid without covering the operating costs of the project?

Yes! Any help is much appreciated! This will be $26 per primary school kid and $15 per pre-primary school kid.

Which school would the kids visit? Is it a private or a public school?

We send the kids to the cheapest private school we were able to find. Public schools have over 200 pupils per class. The chances to learn are very low.

The cheapest private schools have a yearly fee of $300 per year.
Others cost $500 per year. If you wish to cover the cost of a better private school, please reach out to us.

How do I know what is happening with the money I donate?

We will send you regular updates so you understand what is going on. We generally value staying in touch with you and hearing your feedback.

However, you don’t have to take our word for it. If you want, we can arrange a video call with the kid (preferably starting age 10+, because they can’t speak English yet). We would set up a date and make sure you can keep in touch. None of the kids own smartphones, so we would borrow ours. The other option is to visit us. As a sponsor, you are part of our family. So we are happy to host you If you decide to visit us!

Can I visit my sponsored kid?

Of course! You’re part of the family, so we are happy to see you!
