Women Empowerment

Project Goal

We help to protect the rights of women who are considered to be fruitless in their communities. This is done through provision of education and seminars to women, so that they can do better and contribute a lot towards the development of the nation.

We Offer Free Daycare And Workshops

About Our Workshops

Most of the mothers of our school’s kids are single mothers, and they struggle a lot to have enough, even to have food every day. Many of them can’t find a job while also taking care of their kids. So they can bring their kids to our daycare center for free, so they know that their kids are in good hands while they are working.

At the same time, with the support of our volunteers, we help mothers to improve their English or learn new skills like baking and sewing so they have a chance to earn an income. Based on the skills of the volunteers, we also hold workshops around the topics that could help them. Some examples we had in the past revolved around menstruation including the use of menstruation cups and others around nutrition including breastfeeding.

Power To The Women

How Do We Support Women?

Solve Period Poverty

The majority of women who live in poverty can’t afford to buy menstrual products. They use unhygienic solutions that can promote diseases instead. At the same time, menstruation. is still associated with shame in Tanzania. So it’s hard to talk about it. We commit to breaking this silence.
Our NGO also provides free reusable menstruation products to the girls and women who need it.

Educate About Nutrition

Malnutrition is a huge problem in Tanzania. Our NGO helps kids suffering from malnutrition to recover. At the same time, we educate women about nutrition, offering solutions that fit to their lifestyle.

For example one of our volunteers, nutritionist Roxana Ramírez (Insta / LinkedIn) held multiple presentations around nutrition in Tanzania and the importance of breastfeeding, reaching more than 200 women.

Teach Skills

We hold different types of workshops that allow women to learn skills that they can use to earn a regular income (baking, sewing, English,…).

Our most successful project is sewing tote bags and other products from local African cotton fabrics. Our volunteers sell these products to friends and family as a way to collect the funding of our organization.

Take Care Of Their Kids

Most of our women are single mothers. They are rejected when trying to find a job because they have to bring their kids. There is no one else who can take care of them in the family. But we happily take care of their kids. We provide free food, education and a general safe space, so the mothers don’t have to worry about their kids while they are working.
